Welcome to the web page of Istanbul Photo Contest 2008. "LES ARTS
TURCS" marks its 10 years of cultural mission and for this reason we
would like to celebrate by giving foreign photographers the
opportunity to capture the importance of the historical peninsula of
Istanbul. The photo competition is designed to encourage foreign
photographers of all skill levels to submit photos that visually
express how the old istanbul peninsula (Tarihi Yarimada) has
undertaken the mission of all activities during the candidacy of
Istanbul: 2010 European Capital of Culture.
The first draft and theme ideas of the contest have already been
shared with our friends living abroad through e-mails and online
announcements.
The main target of this contest is; living Istanbul with its
historical and touristical locations by focusing on the historical
city walls including mosques, museums, bridges, towers, churches,
synagogues, sufi lodge, cisterns, palaces, people, cats, parks,
fountains, baths, grand bazaar, spice market, shopping centers,
authentic Turkish cuisine, boutique hotels, handcrafts and shops,
artists, carpet sellers , 24 hours living streets etc.
In "LES ARTS TURCS", we desire to see our country excellences
through the eyes of foreigners by adding the historical peninsula to
the Istanbul Photograph Collection. We invite all foreign friends to
enter this contest. We believe that photography is a universal
concept and a photo is Worth a Thousand Words and aim to prove that
you will represent your feelings not by hundreds of word but in a
single shot.

APPLICATIONS & RULES 1. No entry fee, payment or purchase is required. 2. Accepted photos must be sent to us digital in a cd file
formatted to at least 300 dpi. 3. Please attach a 6 number code to the right bottom of the
cd with your names on it.
for example: ( john Howard - 123456). 4. An individual may submit maximum 5 photographs. 5. The completed entry form (all information requested must
be provided) needs to be mailed in a separate envelope along with
entries in main envelope and mailed to, "LES ARTS TURCS" Incili Cvus Sok. No: 37 Kat: 3 Alemdar Mah. 34400 Sultanahmet
- ISTANBUL/
TURKEY by cargo or by hand. 6. Please add a label marked "Customs Free" on your cargo
envelope. 7. The entries not awarded will not be shipped back. 8. "LES ARTS TURCS" has the unrestricted and exclusive rights
to use photograph(s) for cultural purpose of the winners of photo
contest .

competition result. ) 9. Photography Contest entry period is scheduled until
November 15, 2008 enabling photographers to shoot during all seasons
in Istanbul. 10. By signing and sending the Entry Form, the participant
consents to entry of his or her submission and agrees to the
Official Rules and Regulations and the decisions of the judges,
which are final and binding in all matters to this contest. 11. "LES ARTS TURCS" is not responsible for entries that are
lost, late, delayed, misdirected, illegible, incomplete, postage
due, stolen, returned, separated, damaged, or undeliverable entries
or mail. 12. For commercial purposes Les Arts Turcs will contact with
the artists for the copyrights

The 40 owners of exhibited entries will be awarded with a contest
book and Whirling Dervish Image painted by "LES ARTS TURCS" artists.
Akustic Music Company's memorial Turkish Music Cd's to all award
winners.
