There are many historical locations in Turkey which attract not only the archeologists but also the tourists and visitors to learn the history of the Mediterranean region. Whenever you come to Turkey for exploring history, do visit the museums of this place.

Turkey is full of historical locations. If you think that the Mediterranean region of Turkey is just about sea and water locations then you are wrong. There are plenty of museums and historical sites in the region that contain items starting from the Paleolithic to the Ottoman era.

Each year, many people come to Turkey for visiting the historical locations of the region and for exploring the locations and attractions here. If you are planning to spend holidays at a remarkable location this year then it must be said that you should visit Turkey. It is a place full of amazing places where you will have adventurous time and make great memories. It has seven geographical regions that are worth exploring for everyone. Many such places are located in each of the regions that are called the must see places.

A place that not only promotes tourism Turkey but also attracts visitors to spend their holidays in the country is the Mediterranean region. This region not only is famous for its scenic beauty and wonderful water locations but it also has many historical places. There are many museums in the Mediterranean region along with other historical sites. These places attract tourists from different parts of the world to learn the history of the place. Many museums here tell about the history of the region well.

There great city of Antalya has a number of archeological museums that are a center of attention of many tourists. They contain artifacts from the Paleolithic as well Ottoman era. The two colored ceramics of the ancient time is what many of the archeologists, tourists, visitors as well as locals love. The museum of the founder of the nation i.e. the Ataturk Museum also has a number of objects from the past to display.

The museum at the Karain Cave also has artifacts from the old days. This museum was constructed in 160,000 BC. A park that is also a museum is known as the Mt. Guluk National Park. It is located at the northwest side of Antalya. It has wildlife and wild landscapes that are really not found anywhere in the world. Another archeological museum is the Burdul Archeological museum. It is open throughout the week except for Monday. Hacilar Hoyuk is a place that contains ceramics. It was constructed in the year 1950. The archeological museum in Yalvac also contains many of the artifacts from the past. The Archeology and Ethnography Museum in Damlatas Cave is also a museum visited by many of the archeologists from various parts of the world.

Adana is 4th largest city of Turkey. This place contains 3 museums. The very first is the Archeological museum that contains items from the Roman and Hittite period. The second one is the Ethnography Museum and third one is the Ataturk Culture Museum. Dilekkaya is a place that also houses one small museum that contains roman baths and mosaics whose beauty is beyond compare.

Karatepe National Park contains remains from the era of the rule of the king Asitawada. Other than this, the open air museum of the region is also a lot famous. It contains many items used by the people of the past who used to live in Turkey.
There are many more places in Turkey visiting which will make you realize that the country is diverse in itself. Antakya Museum contains the mosaics from the roman time. This museum is also open throughout the week except for Monday. You will get to learn much about the history of the civilization that used to live in Turkey and its various regions.
