23 Nisan (April 23) International Children's Day
was established in 1920 as the day when Turkey celebrates and
recognizes the children of Turkey as the future of the country. On
this day children from schools around Turkey (and now other
countries as well) take control of the government.
They sign documents concerning education and other concern of the
children of the country. UNICF now is a big part of this event bring
children from other countries to help celebrate this day with the
children of Turkey. The children stay with Turkey families and also
take part in a national children's assembly. |
