Istanbul International Film Festival started as a
small part of the Istanbul International Festival back in 1982 has
grow to be one of the most important film festival in the world. It
is held every April and it draws an crowds from all over the globe
including the best talent that Turkey has to offer.
There are many
different competitions at the festival including International
Golden Tulip Competition (helping to promote literature into film
form), National Competition (helping to promote local and national
Turkish Films), The Film Award of the Council of Europe (FACE)
(Helping to promote spread awareness of human rights), and lastly
Nokia N series Short Film Competition (to help promote the short
