Yoghurt is a a by product of fermented milk and is
made with water. The most popular use of Yoghurt is in the country
of Turkey, although it is available throughout the Middle East and
Central Asia. The popularity of Yoghurt is such that it rivals the
sales and consumption of juices and soda type soft drinks. It is
best served in a chilled glass and is preferred to be served as a
specialty drink for visitors of certain households. r>
There are some
original recipes that call for the making of Yoghurt with cucumber
juice rather than with water. However, it is most commonly made with
a one pint of yogurt and a cup of water ratio. Yoghurt is a very
filling drink and subsequently, should not be served in large
quantities. Although there is no record of the country of origin,
Turkey boast of having some of the earliest and most variety of
Yoghurt items to be found.
Longevity was and still is the believe of
many individuals who drink Yoghurt on a regular basis, and is
acceptable for people who are lactose intolerant. Yoghurt is usually
served with some type of sweetness added to the mixture to take away
the original tartness of Yoghurt.
