an ancient city. Its name has been taken from the mountain range of
slate which is known as Isiklar Dagi. Terkirdag is a point where the
campaign to conquer Asia Minor was launched by the Phrygians. It was
decided that it will be conquered through sea. It was then captured
by the Thracians for quite long. Later it was ruled by the Romans
and the people of the Byzantine era also ruled it.

environ of its European past. The more modern attractions in Pera
are movie theaters and music stores. St Anthony Catholic church sits
on the Grande Rue de Para it is like a smaller Notre Dome de Paris;
it was constructed in 1906 and still has an active congregation, but
different events and concerts are also held there.
